Israeli Forces Shell Farmland in Syria’s Quneitra Region

(MENAFN) Israeli forces shelled agricultural areas in Syria’s Quneitra countryside on Tuesday, according to reports citing official media.

A TV channel said Israeli artillery fired three shells toward farmland near the village of Taranja in the northern part of the Quneitra countryside.

No casualties or material damage were immediately reported.

The incident followed reports that Israeli troops had entered the nearby village of al-Asha in the same region a day earlier, where they conducted searches and raids on several homes.

The latest developments come amid ongoing tensions in the area, despite recent comments from Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa, who said negotiations over a possible security agreement with Israel had not collapsed but were facing obstacles. He noted that disagreements remain over Israel’s insistence on maintaining a military presence inside Syrian territory.
